Some of the other important auto shows of the world are as follows –

Los Angeles Auto Show – began in 1907. The initial display was of 99 vehicles at the Morley’s Skating Rink. Today the show is one the biggest one held annually at the LA Convention Center.

North American International Auto Show – began in 1907 at Beller's Beer Garden at Riverside Park as the Detroit Auto Show. The show got its new name in 1989. This annual show takes place in the Cobo Center now.

Tokyo Motor Show – began in 1954. Organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, the first show (known as the All Japan Motor Show) was at the Hibiya Park. Now it takes place every two years at the Makuhari Messe, Chiba City.

Geneva Motor Show – began in 1905. Comparatively newer than the other shows, this is popular for its display of interesting super-cars. The show is an annual event held at the Geneva Palexpo Convention Center.

Frankfurt Motor Show – began in 1897. A small exhibition at the Hotel Bristol, Berlin, became one of the world’s largest automobile shows with passing years. Officially known as the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, this is an annual event.

Enthusiasts find time to check out the new entries at these shows. It could be a great experience for any car buff! However, if your schedule does not give you the opportunity to visit these in person, you can always get the details in the auto magazines that cover these important events of the motor world.

Saving Costs on a Vehicle – Buying a Hybrid

How would you feel if you could actually save on buying, and driving, a car? Hybrid vehicles can give you this advantage. Whatever make or model you buy, you can get this benefit whenever you invest in a vehicle in this category. How can you save on the expenses? Here are a few points to consider.

You can save on gasoline when you buy such a vehicle. This saves a lot. Did you know that every two minutes your car is in idling mode, it wastes gasoline that could drive it for another mile? In a hybrid, the gasoline-powered engine shuts off during this phase and the car runs on the electric power.

Hybrids do not use gasoline while you are accelerating to higher speeds. The battery-charged electric motor provides the power for this. You save on your gasoline costs. This also implies lesser tailpipe emissions and therefore, lesser air pollution. You contribute to environment protection too!

Fuel economy is one of the major points of advantage of buying these vehicles. For example, the most popular Prius, in the Toyota Hybrid category, comes with a 1.5-liter, I4, 110-horsepower engine, which is capable of achieving an amazing 48 mpg in the city and 45 mpg in the highway.

As fuel prices soar, and people start looking for a good alternative to save costs, the hybrids present a viable solution. These cars also cater to the people looking for greener vehicle options. Moreover, there is no need to plug-in for recharge, the batteries get adequate charge from the energy from braking.

Look for federal and local tax exemptions on such buys. For example, the US offers Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit to all purchasers of such vehicles, be it a Hybrid SUV or a sedan, or any other variant. This federal tax rebate makes it financially viable to invest in these cars. Various states also have rebates and other benefits for the purchasers.

If you are looking for a fuel-efficient, performance-driven vehicle that saves money, a hybrid is a good choice.
